TAURANG A, This day.
Intelligence has just been received herefrom Mr G. Vesey Stewart that he has arranged for the sale of the railway contract to a syndicate in London. The construction of the railway to the Lakes is therefore certain. The s.s, Northumberland, 2000 tons, has been laid on for Tauranga direct with settlers sailing on September 25, and immediately after a sailing vessel of 600 tons now loading will leave for Tauranga with railway plant and navvies and their families.
