VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE

An inspection parade of the Paten Rifles took place last evening, when 41 rank and file wore present. Captain Tnplin acted as Inspecting officer, by order of Major Stapp. The men were marched out in the road and put through various evolutions by the Captain and officers. Out of the large number of men who left the district for Nelson a short time ago, unfortunately there were ten of our local corps, who have since received their discharge. The corps is now 46 strong, including the Band.
