Seven Irishmen recently arrested at Glasgo, charged with complicity in blowing np the gasometer in that city fn January last, have been committed for trial. ADEN, Sept. 11. The East Indian Squadron, under command of Admiral Sir William Hewett, on board H.M.S. Euryalus, flagship, has arrived at Zanzibar. ALEXANDRIA, Sept. 11. Major Evelyn Baring has arrived here, to assume the position of British Resident Consul-General in Egypt. PARIS, Sept. 11. A transport conveying reinforcements for the French forces, has sailed for Ton quin. HONG KONG, Sept 11. News has been received from Canton that a Chinese mob, incensed by the accidental drowning of a Chinese Font, who attempted to board the steamship Hankow, set fire to and destroyed several houses on the wharf. Foreigners have been compelled to take refuge on board the shipping. The Chinese troops were called out to restore order. Three gunboats have left this port for Canton to protect the Europeans.

f REUTER—COPYRIGHT.] (Received Sept 12, 1,25 p.ra.) MELBOURNE, This day. Sailed yesterday afternoon, Waihora for Bluff. A fire took place last night at the residence of Mr Nash in Walsh street sonth, Yarra. Three children were burnt to death, and a fourth is dying.
