MOMOHAKI ROADS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l noticed in your issue of 10th instant an anonymous letter signed “ Ratepayer,” in which the writer in a base and cowardly manner attacks me in the dark. lam responsible to the Wairoa Highway Board for my actions, and I challenge the writer of the letter to attend the next meeting of the Board and make his charges in an open and straightforward manner. If he does hot do so I brand him as both a coward and a slanderer, and beneath any further notice.—l am, &c., John W. Thurston, Foreman of Works, Wairoa Highway Board. [Our correspondent uses needlessly strong language, and we felt very much inclined to reject his letter on that account. “ Coward” and “ slanderer” do not look well in print, and correspondents should take a note of it.— Ed.]
