HARBOUR BOARD.

The Board met on Monday afternoon. Present: the Chairman (Mr Gibson) Messrs W. Aitchison, R. A. Adams, Josiah Richards, Special Meeting. A special meeting was held to consider the amended by-laws. Chairman moved and it was seconded by Mr Adams and carried “ That alterations to the by-laws advertised in the Patea Mail of August 6 be confirmed.” Oi’diuary Meeting. Correspondence was read From the Commissioner of Crown Lands stating that lease to Mr A. Palmer was ready for signature— Secretary stated that the lease had been signed by Mr Palmer that day. From the Marino .Department notifying the appointment of Mr John Gibson as a member of the Board. From the Treasury that £1 had been placed to the credit of the Board. REPORTS, The Pilot reported that the bar was very good at present, the channel being straight out with about ten feet of water but rather narrow at the end of the breakwater. Everything is in good

working order at the pilot station. There have been seven arrivals and eight departures during the month. Report received. The Wharfinger reported everything in good order. The receipts for last month were £92 14s 6d.—Received. ACCOUNTS PASSED. E. Batup, 10s ; Patea Mail, £1 17s 6d. NEW BY-DAWS.' Chairman proposed “ That the bylaws as amended and confirmed come into force on August 23 next/'’ Seconded by Mr Adams and agreed to. The Board then adjourned.
