WAIROA HIGHWAY BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was hold on Saturday, June 2. Present: Wardens Johnston, Aiken, McLean, and the Chairman. The Foreman of Works sentinhis report, saying that Hughes and Davis were progressing satisfactorily with the Momahaki Road, although the weather was gicatly against them. The ironwork for the bridge was completed, and the timber expected daily. Some inore limber was required for culverts. A culvert was reopened in Aiken and Bradley’s road. CORRESPONDENCE. / From Mr G. Hutchison agreeing to give land required for road deviations in exchange for land on road not required ; from Public Trustee re deviation through Mr Coghill’s property ; from MrT. Harris asking for certain work on road near his property.: ; Resolved, “That the Foreman of Works report on Harris’s road by next meeting.” “Thati the Foreman of Works get the necessary repairs done on Aiken, Bradley, and Kirihaka roads.” “That the Foreman of Works order 1,200 feet of timber for culverts &c.” “That Mr Howie receive notice to remove gates off road leading to Mr Farr’s properly.” The following accounts wore passed for payment : Wanganui Chronicle , £1 12s 6d ; F. P. Fookcs, £1 ; H. F. Mason, £ll Os 6d; J. Belling, £5 19s ; G. C. Ross, £4 14s 6d ; E. G. Ross, £7 10s 6d.

Resolved, That the election for the new Board be held on 25th June, and the nomination on 18th inst. Nominations to be received at Mr Wilson Milne’s house.” The meeting then adjourned.
