SHOCKING SUICIDE.
[per press association.] MASTERTON, This day. A Scandinavian named Maason was discovered in a whare at the head of Wangaroa, close under the Ranges, with his throat cut with a knife, and a scythe-stone beside him.' He was unmarried, sober, and aged twenty-four. The cause of suicide, it is surmised, was ill-health and consequent depression of spirits.
