WEATHER REPORT.

WELLINGTON, This day. Captain Edwin telegraphs as follows: “ Weather forecast for 24 hours from 9 a.m. to-day ;—Wind between N.W.and and south-west at all places north of Napier and New Plymouth, and between south-west and south-east at all other places. Sea heavy on both coasts south of Napier and New Plymouth. Warnings for southerly gales have been sent to all places. Synopsis of last 48 hours : —Throughout the country the barometer continued falling steadily until Sunday evening, and since then it has risen everywhere. Strong south-east to north-east gales were prevalent during Saturday at most places north of Napier and New Plymouth, the wind changing to north and north-west on Sunday, with rising barometer. In other parts of the colony the wind has been generally from southwest to south-east, increasing to a hard gale on the eastern coast between Lyttelton and Napier during Sunday night. Rain has fallen heavily, and there have been unusually high tides at most places north of Lyttelton and Hokitika.”
