Repression Bill Passed. SUSPENSION OF HOME RULERS. London, July I. — The Irish Represion Bill has passed in Committee of the whole House of Commons after a final sitting lasting thirty-two hours. Great opposition was shown to the passage of the Bill by Parnell and the Home Rulers, who were suspended, after which the debate proceeded more quietly, and all the clauses were passed through committee. Eire in Queensland. Brisbane, this day.—A destructive fire occurred at Ipswich last night. Pour shops were completely gutted. Insurances include £SOO in National Insurance Company of New Zealand. Indian Troops for Egypt. Bombay, Ist.—The Indian Government is making preparations for the despatch of ten thousand British and native troops to Egypt should their services be required. CHANNEL TUNNEL. London, July 2nd.—The Government has applied to the Supreme Court for an injunction to restrain promoters of the Channel Tunnel scheme from proceeding further with the work of construction. Mails. London, July 2nd.—The Homeward and Australian and New Zealand Mails, which left Auckland on May 23rd were delivered here on June 30th. Wheat AfloatLondon, July 2.—The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,030,000 bushels.
