That rental would not affect the settlers or committed, as we would get the" same amount of capitation as at present. Vote taken, 6 for amendment, 7 against; but your informant neglected to say. that when the, .‘amendment and resolution were, put, Messers George Gane and Foreman abstained from voting. If the vote had

been left to the bona-fide property owners, wQttld bave been' equal as long as Mr foreman declined .to vote, as the Ganes nad -sold their property. Would it not have been more honorable if neither of them/ yo'^djand ‘ allowed .the bonafide property holders to vote their permanent site. Yon also say settlers think that the Jdoard,,should to erect a school - op.a site that does , not suit the majority. Your report has not shownthat the majority were for purchasing, as only; 12* bona-fide*- properly taroted, and one that owns no property. If W.
