Second Edition Bankruptcy or Fraud.

W. WILLIAMS’S AFFAIRS. An application on behalf of Mr T. North, a creditor, came before the District Judge at New Plymouth on Thursday, for an examination of the debtor, Mr W. Williams, as to his affairs, particularly with reference to suspected fraudulent transfer of property and alleged partnership with his sons. The Judge consented to examine the debtor, who was in the witness box all day yesterday and to-day. Mr North is represented by Mr Hughes, solicitor, and by Mr Barton. The trustee, Mr Cowern, appeared and produced the books. The inquiry promises to last several days, and various witnesses from Patea may have to be summoned.
