Second Edition OTOIA LICENSING DISTRICT.

The Licensing Committee sat at Kakaramea to-day. Present, Messrs G. W. Gane (chairman), P. Wilson, Pearce, Brodie, and Clover. The licenses of Messrs J. O’Sullivan, Kakaramea, Gallagher, Manatahi, and Hurley,. (accommodation license), Woodville, were renewed. The Committee requested that rope ladders be placed in each hotel as fire escapes.

The Committee requested Government to’appoint an analyst ; and agreed to invite to a conference of chairmen’ of Committees in Manaia, Hawera borough and road districts, Otoia, Patea, and Waverley districts, to be held at Patea, for drawing up resolutions for having liquors analysed and tested by a proper officer. Invitations are to be sent to each district.
