. Mr Cowern’s stock, sale to-day was largely attended. The entries of cattle were unusually large, and prices were a good average for the time of year. Sheep did not fetch the reserve price at the hammer.
Mr Sparks was last night appointed musical instructor of the Patea brass band, at a salary of £25 per annum. Three other applications were received.
