Josh Billings had this playful allusion to see-saw—“ I saw a blind wood-sawyer. While none, ever saw him see, thousands have seen him saw.”
The newspapers often print the “last words ” of men, but never those of women, as the latter would take up so much room as to crowd out all the advertisements.
