COLONIAL WOOL PRICES.
The following wool sales in this colony are reported by the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s circular says ; - .OHpiSTCHpHCH.— During .the month.we have held two'auction'sales, viz., oh the 29th March and 19th April, at which we submitted altogether 1082 bales; Of these 797 foiind Buyers at,'.’for,: grefisy raerhiOi' Bjd to greasy lambs 7£d to 9|d ; scouredhilerinq Is 2d to ls.7»d ; scoured cross-bred 9jJo Is Id. The otherdocal wool brokers have each held one side, 1 at which' similar prices were obtained. The season may how be considered closed, and it is matter for congratulation to all concerned inm the trade that the market lias been, so well, supported throughout, that fluctuations J in .values have been but slight, and that there is evidently a more extended disposi-tion-on the part of growers to realise in the local market when, opportunities .for doing so are favorable. - ‘ -•
Dunedin, — Several lots of fanners’ ‘and fellmongers’ wool and remainders of clips have been offered during the month. Competition has. not been 'very ariimatpd, consequently the proportion'of catalogues' disposed of was* not large, consisting sin. all of "about 20,0;,t0 300 bales, grbwers’ limits not having been reached in so many instances. Grbss-breds ' have fetched from 6J to lOd for greasy, and Is Id for scoured ; merino greasy 7jdv to . 10jd f washed. ls ,; and scoured IsTd. Timaru. —The season is now over, and the only, lots coining forward are; fellmongers’ parcels ’of scoured and: station lotiks, and pieces scoured. No . public sales have taken' place during the past month.. , .... ;
Auckland.—No public sales have been held - throughout th month,; and transactions have been confined to private-Sales of &hial 1 lots at about late rates.
