Sydney, 12th. —At to-day’s meeting of the Australasian Jockey Club at Rondwick, the race for the Sydney Gold Cup resulted as follows:—Lloyd’s Cunnamnlla l,.De Meshe’s Sweet William 2, Abraham’s Rainbow 3. Nineteen horses started. Cunnamnlla won by half a length. Time, 3m. 30 4-10s. Missing Ship. Sydney,—Nothing has been heard of the missing ship Minydon, and all hope is now abandoned. LONDON MARKETS. Australian tallow firm at 42s for best beef, and 45s for best mutton. Russia’s Peace Policy. Berlin, 11th.— The appointment of M. Degiers as Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, has been the cause of much rejoicing. His policy, it is confidently expected, will tend to establish greater harmony in the diplomatic relations of Germany and Russia than exists at present, Vienna, 11th.—Great satisfaction is expressed at the announcement that Prince Gortschakoff retires from active political work, and is succeeded by M. Degiers. Queen’s Health. London, 12th.—The health of the Queen is much improved since her arrival at Mentone, and her Majesty will return to England at an early date.
