This Afternoon. Antimony Assay. Greymoutb, 23rd.—Some time ago the directors in Langdon’s company sent 25 cwt of antimony ore to Melbourne to be tested, and about 10 tons home for the same purpose. A telegram was received from Melbourne to-day as follows : “ Cosmo Newbury reports, 42 per cent, antimony; gold equal to loz 12dwts 16grs per ton ; no silver.” Called Home. Wellington, 23rd.—It is understood that Mr A. Brogden, M.P., has received a cablegram asking him to return to England without delay, owing to the unsettled state of parties at home. 27 Criminal Cases at Auckland. Auckland, 23rd.—The criminal calendar so far shows twenty-seven charges against sixteen persons. The most serious charges are manslaughter and rape. ■ Land Court for Mokau." Auckland, 23rd.—Judge Fenton has gone to Waikato with the object of making inquiries likely to lead to holding the Native Land Court at Mokau.
