The Mail has over 90 subscribers between Whenualmra and Waitotara. WAIROA HIGHWAY BOARD. The monthly meeting was held on Saturday. Present: Messrs lon, Aiken, Johnston, McLean, and Chairman. Minutes of previous meeting read and) confirmed. Treasurer’s balance : General account £548 18s lOd ; block 8, £BS 12s 7d; block 9, £7O 15s 6d. Letters received from K. Liffiton, A. Yincent, J. Henson, G. Hutchison, Patea County Council. Report received from the Foreman of Works. Resolved that the Foreman of Works report on the work asked for by Mr A. Vincent on the road between sections 307 and 408. Resolved that a reply be sent to Messrs Hutchison and Henson informing them that the Board have not sufficient funds to carry out work asked for. Mr Nicholson waited on the Board re road to his property. Resolved that the Foreman of Works prepare specifications, and report on road to Nicholson’s, Whenuakura, bj r next meeting. Resolved that the secretary write to Patea County Council, informing them that the Board are willing to expend any moneys on main road, provided the Council supplement the Foreman of Works’ salary, but object to take any responsibility. Accounts passed for payment:—H. Dudley £lO Is fid ; J, Hughes £46 4s. Resolved that tenders be called for Cemetery road by next meeting. Resolved that a special meeting be held, bn Saturday, at 7 p.ra.
