MARKETS.
Freeman R. Jackson’s Fortnightly Stock Report. Wanganui, November 30. The sales during the past fortnight have not boon so well attended as usual. The yards have been well filled with useful stock, but the bidding was dull, with the exception of Messrs Newland’s clearing sale ; the bidding on that occasion was very spirited, and all the lots were sold at the auction. The quotations are as follows : Cattle . —At Kakaramea on the 18th 88 head were sold—Fat cows, £5 5s ; cows, £3 12s Gd ; heifer, £3 5s ; yearlings, £2 7s Gd to £2 15s. On Saturday at AVaverlcy 460 head were yarded— Cows and calves, £4 7s 6d to £4 17s 6d ; cows, £3 5s to £3 10s ; heifers, £3 2s 6d to £3 17s 6d ; steers, £4 to £4 5s ; yearlings, £1 17s 6d to £2 los. At Waverley on Fiiday, the 25th, 407 head made up the sale—Steers, £4 10s to £4 12s 6d ; cows, £3 2s Gd to £3 15s ; yearlings, £2 2s Gd to £3. At the St. Hill-street yards to-day 357 head were sold—Fat cows, £6 2s Gd ; bullocks, £7 2s 6d ; store bullocks, £5 5s ; 2-year-olds, £3 15s to £3 17s Gd ; cows, £2 12a Gd ; yearlings, £2 10s ; bulls, from £5 to £lB Bs.
Sheep. —At Waverley 800 were in the pens—Hoggets in wool, 10s 3d to 11s Gd ; shorn sheep, 7s 6d. At the yards to-day —Wethers, shorn, 7s 9d to £9 6s.
Horses. — A number were sold at Messrs KCwland’s sale, at satisfactory prices—unbroken draughts, £9 10s to £2l 6s ; backs, £5 to £l4. At the yards to-day I sold nearly all that offered at market values.
Exports. —74 cattle, 653 sheep, 67 horses, 110 pigs.
