Town Board. — A special meeting of the Town Board was called for Saturday evening to open tenders for the formation of Hussey-street. The following are the names of the tenderers for the work,with the amounts: Crokcr, £7 I Os; W. Davis, £8: Thurston, £lO : Hughes, £ls ss; Wilcox and Parker, £0 14s. It was moved hy Mr M‘Lean, and seconded hy Mr Taylor, that the tender of W. Davis bo accepted (carried). Application was made to the Board for the transfer of the section now standing in the name of J. Brolly, to J. Bowie, which was granted after considerable discussion. it was resolved that tenders bo called for the formation of Fookesstreet; and the business of the meeting was brought to a close. Gikt Sauk.— On Friday, Mr F. R. Jackson held a sale of stock and produce which had been contributed by settlers and others towards the funds of the Church of England being at present raised to wipe oil' the debt on the now church. The collection was of a very miscellaneous character, and on the whole the prices realised must have been considered fair; but there was nothing sold at a fabulous price because of the good object to which the money was to bo devoted. Times are too straitened at present for such display of generosity and good will. Stock .Sack. —There was only a very limited entry of stock for sale on Friday, and the bidding was rather slow. The weather may have had some olicet on the sale, as the day was very cold, and would tend to keep those at home who had no pressing business abroad. WA/UOA IfJ (! II WAY HOARD. At the monthly meeting held on Saturday, there were present Messrs lon, McLean, Johnston, and the chairman. Balance, £G9 Gs 4d; Dr.. Block Fill., £SO 18s 8d : Block IX., £232 IDs.
Correspondence read. Proposed by the Chairman, seconded by Mr lon, "That notice ho given that the bridges to Blochs VIII. and IX. are unsafe. ” —Carried.
W. Lind applied for an allowance for bridging the Moniahaki at Aiken’s corner; referred to the foreman to report on.
Proposed by Mr lon, seconded by Mr Johnston, and agreed 10, that the fol-
lowing accounts be passed for payment: Ward, £5 KJs G ; Ivonworthy, 2s ml ; Payton, £1 2s; Mail, IP’s; McLeod, 5s Gd; Overend, £1 ‘.ls lOd; (Saunders, £2l 15s; Jeffcott & Co., £G'J ; Cornwall & Co., £3O 7s Gd ; stamps, £1 ; Harrison & Co., £1 ss.
The Foreman was instructed to sow the road to Block XI. with cocksfoot, and to get limber carted for culverts.
The Treasurer informed the Board that he proposed instructing the collector to sue for unpaid rates.
