At the Court House on Tuesday, before Alcssrs R. Parris, P. G. Wilson, and F. AloG'nire, J. P.’s., Antonio Domingo, boarding-house keeper, was charged by Kate Saunders that he did unlawfully assault and beat the said Kate Saunders. The information was laid under the 40ih section of the Offences against the Person Act. Air Parrington appeared for the plaintiff, T1 ic defendant pleaded not guilty’, and asked the Bench to postpone the hearing until he could engage counsel. The case comes on for hearing on Thursday. The season for pheasant shooting came to an end last Saturday, and the day being very wet few persons went out. The bags this season have been very small—whether it is owing to the fault of ihe guns, or scarcity ot birds, I cannot say r . The order for Air Wilkinson’s removal from Hawera has been countermanded by the Government. Air Wilkinson and the public arc pleased at the prospect of his being pcimanently settled here.
