WAVERLEY CARPENTERS.
Sir, —In perusing your paper of the 29th I perceive an allusion to the rate of wages demanded by local carpenters in Waverley, suggesting that the price of labour must inevitably become lower if they wish for employment. Now, if nonlocal contractors persist in erecting edifices below a fair valuation, detrimental to their own interests, I do not sec why local tradesmen should' suffer by the cousecpicnccs.—lm am A Lover of Fair Play. Waverley, July 2nd.
