A Meeting of the School Committee was held in the school room on Tuesday evening, to discuss the moving of the school to.the new ,site, . It was resolved to call for tenders to remove the building if possible during the holidays; Mr Nicholls was waited on as to allowing the contractor the liberty of passing through his' paddock, which he kindly consented to do. This will lessen the expense. Several, of the electors met the other evening, and it was decided to request Mr James W. Durie to emne fooward to contest the scat rendered vacant in the Wavorley Riding through the resignation of Mr Winchcomb. There will bo about four nominations sent in which shows that settlors ar waking up in local matters. : The timber for the railway bridge is drawing up very slowly; and what with the freshets in the river it is almost keeping the work at a standstill.
