The House met at 2.30. .Mr Hall 'announced that in event of the legislation 'before the House progressing satisfactorily, the Treasurer would be prepared to bring •down his Financial Statement on Monday. In reply to questions, it was stated that ‘Government would consider the propriety 'of rendering the services of the public •‘analysts ‘more practically usrful than at present.—The Pullman railway cars lately imported fdrirt America cannot pass Through the tunnels on the Christchurchinvercargill line. The COal Was largely Used, an I With the vieW of encouraging its Use, Government had offered a bonus to firemen for its efficient employment.Government would bring down Bill dealing with establishment of small farm 'settlement oh deferred payment system by settlers, to Whom employment will for a time be afforded upon public Works. Qualification of Electors Bill further 'Considered in Committee. Amendments carried were important. One, to give residential franchise to females* was negatived by 57 to 29. . Interrupted by 5.30.
