HAWERA ROAD BOARD.

(To the Editor of the Pat ha Mail.) JSir, —Can you inform mo what sum has to be deposited with tenders sent in for works for the Hawera Road Board—(or are they such a smart lot of business men that constitute the Board that they require no deposit.) If I am not wrongly informed, large contracts have been entered into without any deposit, and as to carrying out the agreements as to time to finish the work. I should like to be informed if contracrors that do not finish their contracts in specified time, forfeit anything. Perhaps your Hawera Correspondent con forward you the above information for publication.— I am, &c,, RATEPAYER.
