HAWERA EDUCATION COMMITTEE.
The first mooting of the Education Committee for the Hawora District, was hold on Wednesday evening. Present : —Rev J. Tony, Messrs J. S. Greig, Thomas Middleman, Andrew Middlcmas; Samuel Toeker, and George Tait. Mr T. Middlcmas was voted to the chair pro lem, Proposed by Mr Greig, seconded by Rev J. Tony, and carried, “ That Mr Thomas Middlcmas be appointed to the office of chairman of this committe, for the ensuing year.”
Proposed by the Rev J. Tony, seconded by Mr A. Middlcmas, and carried, 11 That Mr Greig be elected secretary and treasurer.”
Resolved “That certain gentlemen be requested to allow themselves to be nominated as condiclates for the Wanganui Education Board, by this committee.” Proposed by Rev J. Tony, seconded b} r Mr Tockcr, and carried, “ That a copying, and minute book be obtained by the secretary, for use of the committee,” Resolved, “That the next meeting of the committee be bold on Wednesday, the 16th January, at 7 p.m. at the secretary’s office, and also, that all future meetings bo held there.” The meeting adjourned.
