SYDNEY.
The Queensland Government forced a vote of £750,000 for new railways through Parliament, in the face of persistant obstruction. The sitting occupied thirty hours, through one night and day till dusk of next day, and ended in a count out. A thief, decamping- with £360 and a cash bos from the Ulster Hotel, Brisbane, was collared on the stairs by a young lady, through whose exertious he was captured with the whole of the booty. MELBOURNE. Goldstein, for jewellery robbery was sentenced to 10 years. Lock, of Melbourne, asserts that photograph of the lunatic in the Paramatta Asylum has been fully identified in England as Arthur Orton, and that there is no doubt about it. -
