SHEEP.
{To the Editor of the Patea. Mail.) Sin—Perhaps you can throw some light on the scab subject. It seems to me to be very strange that a public matter of that sort should be kept from the press. 1, for one,- would- like to know whether the Chairman; of the meetings held at Kakaramea, Manutahi, and Carlyle tendered the minutes for publication or not, as I know there , were meetings, sort of Cpmmittee meetings, held at each place ; but, what was done, I have never been able to learn.' Surely, as it was to represent sheepowners, the minutes, ought tp have gone to tlie press for publication ; surely those gentlemen are not ashamed of' anything they did. Hoping you will answer this in your columns, —I am, . SHEEPOWNEE. P.S.—Since writing the-above, I see by a local that you are about to publish some correspondence which has passed between the Government and Inspectors ; but that ■does not' include the minutes taken at the meetings., I suppose. I [Note—No notice of meetings being held was ever communicated ; nor, indeed, of. any intention to’hold meetings.] August 15. ,
