ABOUT THIS ELECTION.
. Xi. j;v U J- a, xjl j-a (To /Tie Editor of the Patka Mail.), Sir—The party-■ signing himself an “ Elector,” must, evidently, be a toady of the party he writes for. I think it is scarcely necessary to dilate upon the assertions put forward in his letter. As far as self is concerned, I think both parties are well inclined on that matter. Mr Davidson has, throughout his residence in the district, known no other view of things but to serve himself, if not directly, indirectly. The other candidate is quite able to do a little in that line, but I imagine Moore Hunter will suit the requirements of the district far better than the storekeeper ; and, I think the farming interest should endeavour to stop too much of storekeeper’s influence getting into public business. As town men there is no objection, but in matters, affecting the whole , district, the less of tea,’sugar, carpenters, and builders, and dealers in iron (that is blacksmiths), the bettexv— I am, &c., - - • MORE TF REQUIRED.
