ROAD WORK.
(To the Editor of the Patea Mail.) Sm, —I have lately had my attention brought to work done on road by Messrs Fairweather and Game. I believe the job has been valued by members of the Road Board, and they vary as to price, but the value fairly is 30s per chain. I am not sufficiently posted up in the affair to know the number of chains, but this job was to have-been done by Messrs Fair weather and Gane, and the sum of £ls was allowed — conditionally, that they did a certain amount of work. Now, Mr Editor, in my opinion, had this job been let, as all jobs should fairlj', it would have been done for far less money. If Messrs F. and G. have any explanation to make in a fair temperate way, I trust they will use your paper for the purpose. —I arn, &c., ONE THAT HATES TRICKERY. o
