[Pek Press Agency.] DUNEDIN. July 21. The Press is jubilant over the fact that the City of New York came in without touching, and that the Tanpo was, made fast for the first time alongside tho Dunedin wharf.- Dhring the passage of the mail boat front Lyttelton, and when about eleven miles due ea'st of God ley Head, and about two and rt > half miles’ off shore, the sea was noticed to be very much discoloured. Captain Caverley had some of the water drawn up’, and, .upon’ examination, it was found to be full of earthy matter, which after standing awhile,’ deposited a muddy sediment. It is supposed to bo the'result of an earthquake.
