COMPENSATION.
(to 1 tub editor- of tub patka maid.) Sir, —In your issue of yesterday, I noticed among the “locally connected” items of Colonial estimated expenditure, one item, “ F, W. Rolle, compensation 5 for losses during the war, in 1868, £360.” Can' you or anyone else inform m'e what special features wore presented in. Mr Rolfe’s case that he should be (I believe) the only person; who is to be c'Oinpensated for losses at that period 7 Far be it from me to wish to prevent anyone from getting that tb which he is justly entitled, but this' 1 must say> if Mr Itolfe is compensated', I don’t see why others should not be' equally entitled to compensation. Hoping you may be able to give me' some information respecting this solitary case, —I am, &c.,* A SUFFERER. Kakaramea,- July 20,- 1876.
