The House met at the usual hour this afternoon’.Mr Kennedy gave notice that he would move for a subsidy of £BOO per year to bo paid to a tug boat to take vessels in and out of Greymouth ; local boards to pay one : third of the subsidy. Mr R6eS gave notice that he would move for a Select Committee to inquire 1 into complaints of Mr Farnall against theGeneral Government. On the motion of the Premier, who s aid he was acting in accordance with the wishes of the House,- it was resolved that there' should be ho evening sitting. On the motion of Mr Murray, it, was' resolved that a return should be prepared showing the expenditure out. of loan and revenue, from June 1872, for Native ana Defence purposes. t It was also 1 agreed time a return be pre-‘ pared, showing what salaries (over £260 per annum) officers of the General Government were permitted to receive as remuneration tor services outside of their service of the Government. A return of contributions of the consolidated revenue from each province during the financial year of 1876, wus ordered. The adjourned debate on the Local Option Licensing Bill was resumed, and continued for some time. The second reading of the Bill was carried by 38 to 28t The Canterbury Education Reserves Leasing Bill was passed. The Auckland Institute Bill was read a second time. The House adjourned at the usual hour. July 21. The House at 2.30.In reply to Mr Murray, the Premier said the Government had not yet considered the appintment of an Agent-General. As soon as anything was decided with regard to the appointment, they would inform the House. In reply to Mr Sheehan, Mr Richardson said that when making his Public Works’ Statement early n'ext week, he would afford all possible information with regard to road accommodation noi-th of Auckland.The House went into Committee on the Eating Bill, and was engaged upon it till interrupted by 5.30.
