NAPIER HOSPITAL

RECONSTRUCTION ON OLD SITE. NAPIER, May 28. The site of the destroyed hospital on the Napier hills was unanimously selected by the Napier Hospital Board yesterday as the site for the new base hospital for the district. Plans have been prepared by the department for an institution to cost £llO,OOO with accommodation for 145 patients, and an immediate start is to be made with its construction. A deputation comprising the chairman of the board and three members from Hastings will go to Wellington to urge on the Minister the necessity for providing 50 beds for general cases at Hastings.
