TAIERI MOUTH.
September 11.— The weather has taken up again after a spell of cold, bitter winds and hailstorms. Very few have So far sown their oats, the land having been in such a wet state, but this last week a start has been made again to prepare the soil. School Concert.— The school concert, which was held in the schoolroom on Friday, 3rd inst., was a great success. Miss Allan deserves credit for the manner in which the children had been trained to do their part. The ladies provided the refreshments, which were of the best. The room was nicely filled despite the weather, and everyone enjoyed themselves. The Punt. — Great trouble has arisen over the Taieri Mouth punt. Launches.— l am glad to be able to say that one of Mr Knarston's launches has bean thoroughly repaired, and is working again. The other one is to be launched shortly. . . . .. Summer Residence.-- One of the leading business men of Dunedin is going to build ii summer residence at this fa\ounto seaBide resort. If we had the long-promised bridge free of toll many more would follow
