PATERSON'S FREEHOLD.

The tenth annual meeting of Paterson's Freehold Gold Mining Company was held at the office of the company on Wednesday afternoon. Mr W. T. Talboys (chairman of director.s) occupied the chair, and on his motion, seconded by Mr J. L. Saimond, the annual report and balance- sheet were adopted. The retiring directors (Mr J. C. M'George and Mr W. T. Talboys) were re-elected<, and Mr James Brown was re-elected auditor.

COMPARATIVE DREDGING RETURNS. The following table shows the number of Otago and fouthland dredges at work weekly with their returns, together with the figures for the corresponding periods of 1908, 1907, and 1906. Pennyweights and grains ar« omitted in each instance : —
