This morning the applicants from Boat' mans who, last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday lodged applications for ground adjoining the Welcome and F.iery Cross mines, arrived in Reefton to lodge further applications by filing cross applications for the separate claims. This is the sixth time since last Thursday that the ground hao been pegged out. I understand that the commotion over this area arose from the contractors expecting to cut the reef in tihe next 30ft in ihe Welcome Syndicate'^ No. 2 crosscut tunnel ' __
