The American risible supply of wheat is 14,766,000 bushels. August 6. The Bank of England returns show the stock of gold coin and bullion to be £37.117,000; reserve, £26,817,000; proportion of reserve to liabilities, 50.70. The notes in circulation total £30,027,000 ; public deposits, £17,240,000; other deposits, £45.632.000; Government securities, £15,366.000; and other securities. £28,685,000. The bank raie of discount is 2£ per cent. Short loans are discounted at 1 per cent., and three months' bills at 1 7-16 per cent. Consols are quoted at- £84 3s 9d.
