ANNUAL MEETING. OHRISTCHURCH, February 20. Hie tenth annual general meeting of tha ■New Zealand Accountants and Auditors' Association was held this evening. Mr Henry Shaw, chairman of the Auckland .bxecutne, was elected president, his being the only nomination received. . The annual report stated tba* the number of -candidates who sat for examinataons jn 1906 was 148, of wihom 34 sat for the /ellows' grade, 66 for the Associates' grade, and 48 for the Students' grade. In the Fellows' grade there were three passes, 16 partial passes, and 16 failures; in tha Associates' grade there were 16 passes, 25 partial passes, and 25 failures; in the Studenite' grade there were 31 passes and 17 failures. In 1907 there were 111 candidate's o*. whom 38 sat for the Fellows' grade, 54 for the Associates' grade, and 19 for the Studenrts' grade. In ' the fellows' grade there were no full passes, 12 partial passes, 1 completed partial pass, and 25 failures. Tuie Associates' examination resulted in 7 passes, 4 completed partial passes, 23 partial passes, and 20 failures. The Students' examination resulted in 12 passes and 7 fa.ilureh I The balance sheet dieckeed a Katiisfa.at.ory financial position. The income was £812 8b sd, and the financial year closed with a balance of £60. The following were elected vice-prosi-denrts: — Auck'and. Mr T. B. Howarth ; Taranaki, Mr F. P. Corkill ; Hawke'a Bay, Mr C. W. Cato; Wellington, Mr R. Wilberfoss; Canterbury, Mr F. H. Labatt ; Otago, Mr C. H. Stathain; Southland, Mr W. A. Ott. The following were eleoted members of the council :— Auckland— Messrs G. O'HiaJloran, R. H. A. Potter, W. Tahle, E. W. Evans, H. Shaw; Taranaki— Messrs H. Bai'y, T. G. Kehey, F. P. Corkill ; Ha.wke"i Bay- Messrs H. Bull, A. A. Clat.wortliy, and C. Cato; Wellington— Messrs J. H. Barker, T. Forsvith, J. C. Port. J. H. Rowlev. C. J. Saßer. and R. Wilberfoss; Canterbury— Messrs W. E. Be*it. S. C. Bingtoam, W. H. Chopseman, T. Compfcon, a. M.. Thornton, and F. H. Lafeatt ; Oitago— Messrs G Blyit.li, G. M. M'Lean, J. C. Patterson, W. E. C* Reid, T. H. Thompson, and C. H. Sta<tham ; Southland— Messrs R. A. Anderson. J. Cunningham, W. F. Soandrcit. and W. A. Ott. M* E. B. Alexander (Auckland) was appointed auditor. It was resolved that the next a.nnual meeting be held in Auckland. The following gi ants 10 centres wcr« made: — Avckland £25, Wellington £17 10s. Canterbury £17 10s. Ota.go £17 10s, Southland £12 10s, Hawke's Bay £7 10s, and Taranaki £7 10s. It, was resolved that the annual subscriptions payable by Fellows and Associates in practice be £2 2s, all other members £1 lls 6d.
