SYDNEY. February 24 No rain fell during the night, but lii>ht showers fell this morning. The weather is very threatening. Nine inches of rain fell at Maitland. and the low-lying lands are Hooded. The low -h ing country round Newcastle is inundated, and only the roofs of the houses aie showing in certain localities. Railway traffic is impeded, and is throwing numbers of mines :dle. Stock has been removed' from farms lying along the Hunter River to tha high lands.
