What Mr Justice Den-n-ton v.-cubed as a \ei\ cut to di\orce ami possibly matrimony was mentioned in Chambers at the Supreme Court to-day when a motion was no-ed for substituted service, in a," wife's aiiniication for the re-.tiaiiiou of conjucal rigliM. His Honor caid that Ac case wa- different fiom one of desovfion, and he did not think counsel could quote authorities in suppoit of the motion. A man could not refuse an application of which he had no notice, and it was hardly to be \ expected that a newspaper advertisement j would be se^n by the resnondonf. Counsel paid he thought that the ease could ha\e been letrardod in the. same light as an ai-m'it-ation for substituted service in a. ea-^e of deseition. He a-ked for an adjournment to endeavour to procure authorities. His Honor smilingly but 6<_entic>illy granted thr> adjournment.
