TRADE WITH GERMANY.
AUCKLAND, February 13. Concerning the statement published that there is a probability of tho North German Llovcl Company establiahinu a regular steamer (onneetion between Germany and Xew Zealand, Mr LaofßUth (Gorman Consul) states that there is no proper t of a regular line. Thero was a good deal of cargo offering for Auckland, and it was decided to send the steamer Westfalen to this port after she had di<chargcd in Australia. Thero was no probability of establishing direct communication with New Zealand. If such a project matured it would bo a passenger, not a cargo ser\ ice. Tho steamers running to Australia are too big to pay to run to the Dominion, where only about 20 to 30 passengers would be picked up.
