MIRACULOUS RESCUE
♦ JENTOMBED FOR FORTY-SIX DAYS. LAUGHED AND JOKED. NEW YORK, January 20. Bailey, Brown, and Macdonald, three miners, who were entombed in the Alpha shaft of the Girowx mine, Ely, Nevada, since December 4, have been rescued. Air and food were supplied to them for 46 days through a 6in pipe. When they were brought to the surface they seemed well, and laughed and joked. The whole town was extraordinarily excited over their reappearance.
