TAKDY RECOMPENSE.
PEKING, January 7. 1 The Viceroy of Canton has agreed to pay £8500 in settlement of British claims for an attack on the steamer Sainam and the murder of ,Dr Mac Donald, a missionary, as cabled on the 15th of July, 1906. Chinese pirates attacked the steamer Sai^ nam 60 miles from Etuchon, killing the Rev. D r Mac Donald, a missionary, and severely wounding the captain and chief engineer
