CROQUET

During the holidays croquet was at its height and many players, including visitors, patronised the green. Some splendid games were indulged in, many of the contests being keen. The district was represented at the Palmerston North tournament by Mrs. Atkinson (Otalii) and Mrs. Hughes (Levin). -' Mrs. Cook defeated Mrs. Evans for the “A” brooch, and Mrs. Erkell defeated Mrs. Smith for the "B” brooch. Both games were good, the "B" players taking several hours, while the “A” players got through very quickly.
