BOWLING.
Bowling has been indulged in freely and the green has proved keen. However, on account of the holidays, pairs matches weie few aud far between, the only one of note beiug a match in which Smith and McGill beat Bax and Petrie, 20—13. Visitors from the Kiosk gathered a rink during the holidays, but went under badly to the town representatives. Tho match at Johnsonville during the holidays was one greatly enjoyed, but the home team, on a keen green, won three games to one. Th'e scores, however, wore very even, and there was very little between the players. Brkell, Kupa, Bills and Whiteman defeated AVackrow, Skinner, Johnson and Smith, 21—20, while in. their other match lost by one only, 16—17. Bramliey, Freeman, Noble and Smith lost to N'eall, A. Mills, Owler, and V. A. Mills, 20—22, and in the second game again lost bv two, 15 —17. Some very fine views have been taken of the Otaki green by the cinema operator, and will be used in Otaki’s boosting campaign.
The Centre Bowling Tournament at Palmerston was won by Needham's rink, who beat Crump’s rink in the semi-final by 17 to 15, and then beat Corbridge’s (Manawa.hu) rink In the final bv 16 to 14. Corbridge "beat Ramsay’s iink in the other semi-final by 25 to IS.
