QUEEN CARNIVAL.

EEACH QUEEN. On Saturday (to-morrow) then should be a large gathering of childrel and adults at lite kiosk, where attrac tions of a varied nature should pleasi all. Besides the helter-skelter then will be a walking competition from tin post office to the beach, the mysterious woman, chain-stepping ami many side shores. In the evening 'here will be ' A dance and community sing will bi held at Te Hon, in aid of the Bead: queen on Monday night. Mr. Twist's lorry will take the children free of charge from the P.O. to the beach to-morrow, while a car will run for the public at lid. per head, RAILWAY QUEEN.

! To-morrow there will be a grand burI lesquc sport snieeling on the domain, and as there will be many attractions I the general public should not fail to attend. There will also be novelty races, side-sh. ,vs, etc., while chiidi'O' will be ospee-' t'ly catei'i d for. There will be a dance at the Empire Hall, Otaki Railway, to-night. All previous ones have been very successful, and a large gathering is expected on this occasion. The dance at Te Horo on Wednesday was not largely attended, and to make matters worse a number of cakes, etc. were stolen. Some one evidently appreciates the committee's cooking abilities. A social and dance in aid of the Railway queen will be held at Manakan on Monday, while to-morrow, Monday. Tuesday, and Wednesday shop j ! .lays will be held at the station. TOWN QUEEN.

Skating was indulged in last night by quite a number, and a pleasant time | was spent in this healthy recreation. Skating will be continued at tie' Town Hall on Monday, when children and learners will kale from 7 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., while open skating with competitions will be carried on from 8.30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
