Mr Robinson’s Orellana had the misfortune to become entangled in a fence with the result that she got badly cut about. In consequence of the accident it is probable that she will be amongUie non-start cl's at the Otaki meeting.
The Otaki Maori Racing Club is to be congratulated on the nominations received for its June meeting, the number being about thirty in excess of June 1i!22. It is expected that the acceptances will be very satisfactory. It is regretted that among those who will not be sporting silk at tlie Otaki races will be W. .1. Bowden and C. Jenkins, 'noth horsemen of the highest order. 1; is hoped, however, that both
wilt soon bo given a chance to ride, again, trey being deserving of licenses. At a meeting o'" the Otaki Maori Racing (.ltd. or. Saturday it was decided to engage Katana’s hand, practically a string one of some twenty players. Caretaker J. I-ist has the Otaki course in good order and patrons of the course are loud in their praise of his work. By the time the June meeting is here the course will be in great order.
Mr W. J. Bowden has taken up residence in Wellington, and was last week joined by Airs Bowden, who has been in indiilerent health.
