QUEEN CARNIVAL.
£IOOO WANTED. This is the heading of a bold ad- ' vertisemenl appearing elsewhere which I annotinces the opening of Otuki’s monster carnival, funds derived to be devoted to improving the domain. The various queens are announced, and when competition opens it is s.ure to be fast and furious —all will be pressed into taking tickets. RAILWAY QUEEN. A grand fancy dress parade will leave | the Railway station tit .1 o’clock sharp, \ headed by the Brass Band, on Wednesday, and great interest should be evhtcj ed. There will lie a baby show, as well 1 as various side-sliows at Airs F. IvilmisI tor’s lovely gardens, also guessing competitions, etc. Members of other cumj nrittees will take part. If wet the funcI tion will be held in the Town Hail. BEACH QUEEN. Mothers are advised to take their babies to the Otaki theatre on (Saturday next at 2.30 when prizes will be given ! for best baby up to six mouths and best baby over six months, up to two years, j Sco advertisement. | At a recent committee meeting of the Beach queen. MAORI QUEEN. A children's nuy paper it--' ball will be held on Thursday, 31st. and a pleasant time should result. Mrs field and Lady l'omarc will be the judges, 'fee advertisement. Mr Kupa Hawca has donated a bullock for the funds of the Maori queen carnival, while several other donations have been promised. Hiss Webber, queen, i- expected to arrive in Otaki to-morrow.
