OTAKI LIBRARY.

A meeting of the Committee of the Otaki library was held last night, the Hew OJ. F. Petrie presiding. There wore also present Alcsdames Cook and Swabey, Ales si's Bramley, Watts, Porcival. Asieolson, aud Xorgrove (secretary). It was decided that the Chairman wait on Air Freeman relative to the title of the land on which the library stood, and when in order to oiler the building, etc., for public auction. It was considered that -the library should be erected on the Rest Resort and it was regretted that the Resort Committee had failed to call a meeting to discuss this and other matters. A hope was expressed that the Resort committee would bo more alert and cal! a meeting at an early date. It was agreed that the library committee meet monthly, and that an endeavour bo made to put more life into the institution. It was the desire of the committee to see the public take greater interest, and either become subscribers or make donations.
